Position Summary:

The qualified candidate will be responsible for directing quality patient care and Hospice Program services in accordance with the Agency’s philosophy and policies, utilizing effective management skills (directing, delegating, implementing, and evaluating), overseeing all aspects of the Hospice Program and On-Call services, analyzing and evaluating goals and objectives, budgets, financial strategies, and operating functions for areas of responsibility.

The role will emphasize strategic planning, new program development, strong collaboration and involvement with the inpatient, outpatient and Home Base Palliative Care Programs. This strong leader will help to expand our Palliative Care services as well as with post-acute care and assisted living facilities, and work in partnership to develop the Systems Inpatient Hospice Services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to planning/coordinating, supervising and maintaining quality patient care and services of all established programs and ventures of the Agency to include the overseeing the development and operations for new programs and services that enhance the System’s services, developing feasibility studies for new programs, working closely with Physician Relations, Admission Services and Client Relations Specialist, identifying new referral sources and/or growth opportunities, identifying industry best practices and/or technology, identifying long and short term goals to the departments, and participating on applicable Agency and System’s committees (PAC, Service Excellence, etc.). Will also participate in the capital and expenditure budget process, manage financial resources, coordinate and facilitate applicable meetings (staff, recruitments and retention, etc.) and perform other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications & Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a closely related field required. Current NJ licensure as an RN is preferred. Master’s degree in Nursing, Management, Public Health or Health Care Administration preferred. Must have at least three years of community health nursing or a closely related field of nursing and a minimum of two years in a supervisory or management position. Budgetary and financial oversight experience is required. Successful candidate will have computer literacy skills, ability and willingness to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and effective interaction and communication skills.
