Billing Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising the scheduling, registration, billing and collection operations of certain VMG clinical specialties. The operations process includes but is not limited to supervising in concert with the practice management staff the billing and collection and the billing coordinators, business associates, office coordinators and specialists. Successful job performance to be measured by producing best practice metrics relative to Accounts Receivable.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma is required, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university preferred However, years of experience can be substituted for the college/university degree
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two – five years of revenue cycle operations management experience in health care environment is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Knowledge of cloud based practice management software is preferred. Familiarity with both hospital based and community based multispecialty practices is a plus. Proficient in software applications including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Medical terminology and coding knowledge preferred. Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing). Demonstrates effective interpersonal/human relations skills. Ability to effectively interact with physicians to meet their needs. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make effective decisions, and respond quickly to physician’s needs. Ability to recognize and deal with problematic situations and to prioritize. Uses discretion in confidential matters.
